Why is Australia a great place to live?

Why is Australia a great place to live?
I am so lucky to call Australia home.  It is a wonderful place to live as it has spectacular wildlife, the opportunity to make a good living and wonderful people who help each other.  Where else would you want to be?

To begin with, Australia is like no other place on Earth.  It has amazing animals, spectacular beaches and incredible plants and trees.  We don’t need to visit a zoo to see our native animals.  Simply visit one of our many national parks and you can see them for yourself.  We are so lucky be amongst such beautiful nature.

I also feel that Australia is a great place to live because we can make a good living.  Children can go to school to learn so that when they are older, they earn lots of money by having a good job.  With this money, you can choose to buy a house, go on a holiday or buy a car.  You don’t need to worry about clothing, housing, food and water because you can buy this yourself.  Aren’t we so lucky?

An equally important reason why Australia is a brilliant place to live is the people, of course!  They are friendly and helpful and take care of each other in tough times.  It’s exciting to live in a country where people have come from all corners of the world.  They may look different, eat different foods or pray to different Gods but they realize just as much as we do how great Australia is.

You have to agree there is no other place on Earth as spectacular and wonderful as Australia.  We are grateful for our beautiful environment, being able to make a good living and meeting a variety of wonderful, caring people. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!

Australia Day is celebrated each year on the 26th of January. This was the date that Captain Arthur Phillip stepped foot on Australian soil and claimed the land for England.  The Aboriginal people were not happy to see the new arrivals.  They call this day ‘Mourning Day’.
