Persuasive Techniques

Power of Three- including lists of three reasons in your writing.
Emotive Language- words phrases and imagery that arouse an emotional response.
Rhetorical questions- Questions to get your audience thinking- that don't require an answer.
Say Again- repeating the same word, phrase or idea more than once for emphasis.
Undermine opposing views- destroy or criticise the opposing argument.
Anecdote- including little stories to get your message across.
Direct Address- involve the audience by speaking to them directly using personal pronouns and shares experiences.
Exaggeration- being over the top to get your message across.

Ash Wednesday


Ash Wednesday is the first day in the season of Lent.  It is called Ash Wednesday because ashes are a symbol of being sorry for things we have done wrong and want to change.  With this change comes new life.  Our class promise this Lent is to make a new friend by being kind.
